This week has been difficult to come by a PS5 restock. There haven’t been many afternoon surprises, and the only major restock predicted is from PS5 restock god Jake Randall. According to Randall, Friday morning is the best time to line up for a large Target restock. Target shipments typically arrive around 7 a.m. Microsoft didn’t announce a specific date for the restock, but I don’t expect it to come anytime soon. This is looking like a big restock, so you’ll be able to pick up the console at your local store instead of having to wait weeks for delivery.
If you don’t want to wait for Target’s stock, your best option is to purchase the console through StockX or eBay. Here are some of our recommendations for getting your hands on a PlayStation 5:
Target – Restock expected very soon.
Amazon – Drop expected soon.
GameStop – Drop occurred on March 11.
AntOnline – Surprise drop happened on March 23.
BJs – Bundle restock happened on January 19.
PS Direct – Drop occurred on March 22.
Best Buy – In-store drop occurred on April 3.
Walmart – Walmart restock happened on March 14.
- If you come across someone selling a console on Twitter, it’s very likely a scam. Avoid these people. nIn the case of applicable goods, utilize an app to complete your transaction instead of a browser. Apps are typically faster than mobile browsers and more convenient to use when purchasing from many devices.
- PS5 restocks are more common in the afternoon and evening than they are in the morning. After 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), chances of an unplanned restock rise dramatically, so if you’re wondering when to check, that’s usually when to start.
- Saturdays are the worst day of the week to restock PS5s. If you see “Out of Stock” on the screen as soon as a restock begins, don’t give up. Try refreshing the screen a few times and keep trying. Some shops sell out their consoles in batches to avoid being taken advantage of by bots.
- Any merchants you’ll be purchasing from should already have accounts set up and logged in. Getting a console in your shopping basket, only to miss out because you had to spend time inputting your payment and delivery information is a pain I know all too well.

Go to the RestockTracker website and create an account for free. nFrom there, choose your region: US, UK, or Canada. Then look for the PS5, Xbox Series X, or any other difficult-to-find gadget you’re looking for. Select ‘Subscribe to Instant Stock Alerts’ from the drop-down menu.
