Watch the 2026 British Grand Prix live streams to find out whether Kimi Antonelli can further extend his lead in the drivers’ standings. The Italian bounced back from his DNF in Barcelona with P3 in Austria before claiming victory in yesterday’s sprint race at Silverstone, stretching his championship advantage over teammate George Russell to 43 points.
After claiming his second win of the 2026 season in Austria, Russell couldn’t quite continue the momentum in his home race. He’ll be starting P4, and after the dominance with which we saw Antonelli overtake Hamilton in the sprint, there’s arguably very little to stop the Italian from becoming the youngest winner in the 100-year history of the British Grand Prix.
Home hopes largely rest with Lewis Hamilton, who starts third just behind Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc. Hamilton claimed sprint pole before finishing second behind Antonelli, and he’ll need a strong launch not only to challenge for victory but also to hold onto a podium place with Russell’s faster Mercedes lurking behind.
Elsewhere, both McLaren and Red Bull have shown encouraging pace in recent races, but neither has consistently matched the speed of Mercedes and Ferrari. All four Red Bull-backed cars, including the two Racing Bulls, qualified inside the top 10, suggesting the power unit is performing well. It’s much the same story for McLaren, who’ll be starting sixth and eighth.
One of the biggest talking points heading into Silverstone this year is how the new 2026 cars and regulations will work on such a fast, almost flat-out circuit. It features many high-speed corners, meaning drivers will have less time to recharge their batteries. As a result, we could see more super clipping at the end of the straights, which wouldn’t make for the best viewing.
