Nintendo has now revealed the Nintendo Switch 2, as well as a small glimpse at a new Mario Kart game. If you want to stay up to date, visit our page on everything we know about the Nintendo Switch 2. As news drops, the page will be updated. We can expect more in April, as part of an upcoming Nintendo Direct event.

New Nintendo Switch games are looking fairly sparse in the coming months, no doubt because of the system nearing the very end of its life cycle. As such, we’re in a bit of a purgatory, with very few confirmed Switch games planned for release until we hear more about the Switch 2.

While Nintendo is clearly in the process of switching gears as it readies the Switch 2, there are still a few big releases still to come for the current model. These include a new Civilization game, as well as a new version of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

It could be a while before we hear about new Nintendo first party games, and what the big titles releasing in the latter half of 2025 will be. For now, here’s a list of upcoming Nintendo Switch games, set to arrive by the end of 2025. Perhaps some of them may even make it into our list of best Switch games by the end of the year!

Here’s a short list of the biggest Switch releases coming out this year. These all have solid release dates, which will be updated if there are any delays or cancellations. Check them out below:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X Remastered – March 20 (Switch)
  • Tales of the Shire – March 25 (PC, PS5, PS4, XSX|S, XBO, Switch)

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X Remastered – March 20 (Switch)
  • Tales of the Shire – March 25 (PC, PS5, PS4, XSX|S, XBO, Switch)

As you can see, the upcoming Switch line-up is looking rather light at the moment. This is likely due to the fact that we’ll be getting the Switch 2 at some point in 2025. We’re expecting Nintendo to reveal many more games once the new console has been fully revealed, which is set to happen during a Direct in April. While you wait, read how we’ve analyzed every frame of the new Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart game footage, and everything we found.
