The distinctive components of this 17.3-inch gaming laptop include a tilted (and, of course, RGB backlit) optical-mechanical keyboard with mechanical keys. The Zephyrus S17 is a powerful laptop with an Intel “Tiger Lake-H” CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU. It also has an Intel “Tigullake-H” processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics, making it a capable performer. On top of that, it ran quietly and exceeded our expectations in all areas.
Incredible Laptop Tech features
The Zephyrus S17’s hardware is comparable to that of other laptops in its price range, which are priced similarly and have similar features. The Zephyrus S17 has the most up-to-date and greatest laptop computer hardware, as you would expect for its lofty price tag.
The pricing, when compared to Alienware’s new x17, starts at $3,576 with a Core i7-11800H (also eight-core but somewhat lower-clocked than the Asus) and a 4K display, is quite competitive. Meanwhile, the Aorus 17G YD costs $2,599 and has a resolution of 1080p.

Final Thoughts
The new Zephyrus S17 is a monster. Our sample’s $3,299 price tag might seem hefty, but it’s roughly in line with the current market for this level of hardware, and no other machine we’ve seen comes close to offering a tilted optical-mechanical keyboard as well as a six-speaker audio system. The lack of a high-refresh-rate 1080p display may be seen as a negative by esports fans, but the 165Hz WQHD screen should please everyone else. The ROG Zephyrus S17 is our new Editors’ Choice for a deluxe big-screen gaming laptop, and it’s Epic in every way.
